Inspired by my meal at Montmartre Cafe I looked up the kitchen that delivers some of the dishes, Acquamarina. This is an italian fish restaurant, opened last year as the owners thought it strange, that seas are surrounding Denmark, but fish restaurants are almost nonexistent.
I truly enjoyed the meal, that consisted of the daily fixed menu with a number of fish and vegetable dishes, all expertly prepared with great care. A vegetable soup light as a summerbreeze, salad with delicately cut vegetables and garden leaves, endives with fantastic cold water shrimps, large oysters and a fat piece of turbot fried on one side.
Everything tastes fresh and clean, without interference. Only element I did not enjoy was the corn pasta, a strange idea.
Wine list is also italian and exquisite.
Check this restaurant out, when you are in Copenhagen and in the mood for pesce italiano in a truly stylish setting.
