The danish championships for chefs, Årets Kok 2013 and waiters, Årets Tjener 2013 gave victory to participants outside of the Copenhagen restaurant elite.
Best chef was Michael Miv Pedersen, formerly with the well reputed restaurant Villa Vest in northerne Jutland. He will soon open his own restaurant in Aalborg.
Best waiter was Tabita Mortensen (center) from restaurant Nordisk Spisehus in Aarhus, a relatively new and very good restaurant worth visiting. The style is inspired by the new nordic trends, but also has a clear focus on deliciousness.
