Bornholm – a gastronomic destination in the making

The island of Bornholm is attracting more and more attention for it’s gastronomy, and is at present at the highest culinary level ever. However, you should not expect to find great food in every town, as there (like in teh rest of Denmark) are many pitfalls. But if you stick to the below, you are well off.

Kadeau (holding 1 Michelin star at the Copenhagen branch) is leading the pack with a new nordic style, the hotel Stammershalle is following with a truly delicious, but somewhat more classic style and Melsted Badehotel is number 3, offering a very fine and summer-minded cuisine sporting many delicious vegetables.

Other nice but more low key spots are Christiamshøjkroen in Almindingen and Molen in Nexø.
